Central NSW is entering a period of strong economic activity as major civil infrastructure and renewable energy projects are given the green light across the region. Combined with deposits of critical minerals and mining interest, an influx of jobs expected to flow into surrounding communities over the coming years, Dubbo’s role as a central service hub continues to grow.

Anticipating this growth, FleetCrew has expanded into Central New South Wales with the establishment of a new Dubbo branch, supporting both existing customers and new clients investing in projects across the region.

Established 15 years ago in a small Brisbane workshop with just five vehicles, FleetCrew has grown into one of Australia’s largest specialist 4WD hire companies. Renowned for their high-quality mine-spec vehicles, FleetCrew are also experts in site compliance, which is critical for teams working in highly regulated sectors such as, mining, construction, infrastructure, renewable energy and defence across Eastern Australia.

The new branch will be operated by local business owner Tom Duggan, who was identified as an ideal fit following strong recommendations from local and industry contacts. After expressing interest, Duggan successfully progressed through FleetCrew’s agency application and assessment process, demonstrating the values, skills and regional insight needed to support the company’s high standards and fast-growing national footprint.

FleetCrew’s partnership with Duggan offers customers more than just access to hire vehicles. “When I learned FleetCrew was looking to set up a branch in Dubbo, I knew it would be an exciting opportunity,” Duggan said.
“There’s a lot of work coming from renewable energy investment, but also from existing mining and agriculture, as well as road and rail upgrades happening across the region. Having site-ready 4WDs available locally is going to be a massive boost for both large companies and smaller contractors.”

While FleetCrew’s roots are in Queensland, Director & Co-Founder Ben Harris has a long personal connection to Central NSW. Growing up in Canberra, he spent many of his younger years visiting family around Dubbo.

“While I live and work in Brisbane, Central NSW has always felt familiar to me. My dad grew up in Coonamble, less than two hours north of Dubbo, and I spent a lot of time in the region when I was young,” Harris said.
“Expanding our network into Dubbo — and contributing to the local economy and employment — is something I’m genuinely excited about. It feels like bringing part of the business back to an area that’s close to my heart.”
