We’ve been excited about plenty of high-performing vehicles coming part of our fleet, but this one is extra special.
The addition of the new 2025 Ford Ranger Super Duty – a powerful 4WD ute that comes in both dual-cab and single-cab options – is the first time a Ford model has joined our light vehicle fleet, which has (until now) been completely made up of Toyotas.
FleetCrew’s long-standing partnership with Toyota, and the proven performance of Toyota vehicles across mining and remote operations, remains an absolute cornerstone of our business.
That’s why the decision to introduce the Ford Ranger Super Duty wasn’t one that was made lightly. It was done to reflect a specific, operational need to offer clients more choice when their requirements are evolving.
All in all, this new Ford model was chosen by FleetCrew for one reason above all: it adds capability that has emerged in the heavy-duty 4WD light vehicle space, particularly around towing capacity and modern capability.

The Super Duty was developed specifically for Australian works, which is what makes it the newest exceptional candidate for mine spec operations – ideal for anyone needing to tow heavy loads between 3.5T and 4.5T.
* Ford Ranger Super Duty towing capacity note:
Up to 4.5T braked towing is available when the vehicle is lightly loaded. With a Gross Combined Mass (GCM) of 8,000kg and a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 4,500kg, towing capacity will vary depending on how much of the vehicle’s payload is being used. We also do not recommend towing long distances at the maximum towing capacity. We also do not recommend towing long distances at the maximum towing capacity.

If you’re working in mine spec, the clearest benefit of the Super Duty is its additional towing flexibility. Where traditional heavy-duty light vehicles are typically limited to 3.5T braked towing, the Ranger Super Duty opens up new options for loads that sit between 3.5T and 4.5T (provided operating conditions and payload allowances are suitable).
You can also gain access to a vehicle that balances functionality in tough conditions with better comfort for operators.

We know how much the Toyota range means to our loyal customer base, which is why Toyota remains a trusted and valued partner to FleetCrew. The LandCruiser 70 Series tray back is still a reliable and trusted staple for clients working remotely in tough conditions, and who need a large towing capacity to rely on.
However, with the release of the Ford Ranger Super Duty, FleetCrew has been lucky enough to secure a number of the new vehicles for customers needing a larger towing capacity and who might be looking for a whole new level of comfort and technology from their mine spec work vehicles.
Don’t worry: FleetCrew is not throwing away our commitments to Toyota’s incredible range of vehicles. However, we’re confident that welcoming the Ford Ranger Super Duty into the fleet represents a new and exciting step forward for FleetCrew, and we’re excited to offer everything that this new range of mine spec utes can offer our loyal customers.
So, if you’re excited to learn more about the Ford Ranger Super Duty, or discuss whether it suits your operation, you can speak with the FleetCrew team today to explore the availability of our models and your configuration options.
